Who? Why? What? When?
The glamping side of the farm’s business is expanding with the addition of twelve new Lushna glamping pods.
The farm was able to apply for and then receive grant funding for part of the project from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. It has taken a lot of time (three years) and effort, put in by Robert and Iain to achieve this result.
We are hoping to develop a new and unique glamping site for the area which offers diversification for the farm, helps to boost the local economy, create jobs and of course perhaps most importantly, deliver memorable relaxing breaks for our guests.
Lushna the company, are based in Slovenia and are at the forefront of eco tourism. They believe that people are searching for unique experiences in nature to re-connect with their lives and the environment. The designs of their glamping pods are incredibly distinctive, have a low carbon footprint and are designed to make the best of the natural surroundings, such as floor to ceiling glass panels and larch exteriors which will weather with the elements. No compromise is made inside with hotel quality fittings and comfort. We very much agree with Lushna’s ethos and their designs, which offer panoramic views, oneness with nature, creature comforts and strong visual identity.
The glamping units we are having from Lushna will comprise:
Three Lushna Suites, each sleeping two adults only. Eight Lushna Petites, each sleeping either two adults only, or two adults and two children and finally one large Lushna Mezzanine, which also sleeps two adults only or two adults and two children.
Inside each Lushna is a hotel standard bathroom area, a kitchen area with sink, fridge, toaster, kettle and microwave in line with our existing pods and some of the Lushna units will have electric cooking hobs too. Outside on the deck of each Lushna you’ll find a barbecue, table and chairs, fire pit and most will have log fired hot tubs, though only four will have log fired hot tubs to start, as we move through 2019, more hot tubs will be added.
We hope to open in December 2018 (earlier if we can) for weekend bookings only, with a full opening in February 2019, just in time for half term and Valentines day.
Do email us if you are interested in making a provisional booking, pricing will be similar to that of the existing CargoPods. We can give you exact pricing from the middle of September 2018.
At the time of writing, (6th September) we have the guys from Lushna here for the next two weeks building the first two Lushna Suites and the Lushna Mezzanine. On Friday we have the final Lushna Suite arriving. After the build is finished, the guys will depart and come back with the final eight Lushnas to build during October. Landscaping will then be completed, such as hedging and fencing and then we will finally be open.
We are incredibly excited about the new glamping pods and we hope you will be too.
