The CargoPod and Future Plans

Apologies for the slightly dark picture, we finished cladding the CargoPod on a slightly grey day in mid December (2016). For those who this is the first visit to our website, I hope you'll look at our CargoPod and think what a sophisticated looking Glamping Pod it is. For those who have stayed with us before, or visited our web pages from April 2014 (when the CargoPod was born) until December 2016, they will be looking at something rather alien to them, ... Walking (and skating) in a Winter Wonderland.

In case you didn't realise, our Pods and cottages are open all year round.  Both cottages have central heating and lovely log burners to keep our guests warm in the winter months and the Pods are all insulated and have wall mounted heaters. For a peaceful wintry weekend in the Pods some of our guests bring comfort food, their own blankets and a lap top to play favourite films on to have some 'down' time and relax, but if you fancied getting ... Days Out 3: Walton-On-The-Naze

Walton is a short 30 minute drive from Lee Wick Farm, just past Frinton-on-Sea. It's a traditional seaside town with the third longest pier in the country. The pier offers all the usual amusements and fun fair rides that kids (large and small!) might enjoy, plus tenpin bowling, a diner, coffee shop and bar. If you want to find out more about the pier, such as opening times and admission have a look here There is a lovely mix of old and new ... Read more

Days Out 2: Frinton on Sea

Just a short 20 minute drive from Lee Wick Farm, Frinton feels like an exclusive resort once you are 'inside the gates' (now railway barriers). Part of the town still has a feel of the 1920's / 30's about it, partly due to the selection of Art Deco Modernist houses at the far end of the sea front at the east of the town. If you love this style of architecture you wont want to miss out on a walk around ... Read more

Logs for Pods

Glamping guests have asked in the past if we sell logs, we listened and now we do!  If you are booking a Pod you now have the option to pre-order a bag of logs for £5.  These are ideal for the fire pits by the MegaPods and CargoPod. To order a bag, just mention you would like to buy one (or more) bags of logs when you book, we will then send you a payment link and once received we'll make sure there is a ... Read more

Walking in Dedham

We love Dedham here at Lee Wick Farm and if we aren't canoeing along the River Stour, we can often be found walking Polly, our Jack Russell in the picturesque countryside. The best part is that this beautiful part of the world, made famous by the artist John Constable, is only 30 minutes away from St Osyth by car. John Constable: Dedham Lock and Mill One of the shortest walks we do in the area is this one,  it's a circular walk and takes about ... Read more

Days Out Number 1: Southwold

With the summer coming, we thought it would be a good idea to have a series of posts that show you places to visit within a 90 minute drive of us here at Lee Wick Farm.  Most will be much nearer than that, but Southwold, our first day out, is such a gem on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, we had to include it. We visited Southwold in April, the weather being a typical mix of showers and sunshine.  It was raining when ... Read more

Finished at last!

Here is the completed CargoPod™ at long last in all it's glorious purpleness. It has taken about 4-5 months to finish, not helped by the bad weather in January. The first booking was on the 25th April and we have guests arriving every weekend now during May and early June, so get in quick if you would like to book. The idea originally developed from wanting to offer something different from the MegaPods to add to the ‘glamping’ accommodation here at Lee Wick ... Read more
